The Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office has full-time Correction Officer positions available with lateral transfer compensation of up to 8 years for your previous experience. Starting pay range is $18.61 per hour to $21.37 per hour depending on prior experience plus education and shift stipends. We offer 12 hour fixed shifts (nights or days) in a fifteen day work rotation where you will have every other weekend off and be compensated for a 42 hour work week plus overtime opportunities. The Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office is currently hiring for a full-time Patrol Deputy. The successful candidate will be assigned to the Town of Poland. Preference will be given to those applicants who have completed the Maine Criminal Justice Academy's Basic Law Enforcement Training Program or who can obtain a waiver.

In addition the successful candidate must: Have passed the Maine Criminal Justice Academy‚Äôs (MCJA) ALERT test. Successfully passed the MCJA physical agility pre-entrance test. Be a minimum age of 21 years old (or 20 years old with at least 60 college credit hours); High School diploma or equivalent; Possess a valid Maine driver's license; Pass a thorough background check, polygraph exam, and psychological test; Be in good physical condition/health; Minimum of Phase I and Phase II of the MCJA pre-service training program, or be eligible to receive a waiver from MCJA preferred.

Salary range is $19.93 to $22.70 per hour depending on experience plus a $0.50 per hour night shift stipend. Additional compensation is also available for college degrees. We offer a lateral transfer compensation of up to 8 years for your previous experience. The position works a 12 hour fixed shifts in a fifteen day work rotation where you will have every other weekend off and be compensated for a 42 hour work week plus overtime opportunities.
