Androscoggin County is hiring a Trial Assistant for the
District Attorney’s Office. The purpose of this position is to assist the District Attorney and/or
the Assistant District Attorney’s by providing
administrative support. Receives and records new cases from
Police Departments in the appropriate manner. Processes and
tracts assigned caseloads. Maintains accurate data entry
and file records until the cases conclusion. Rate of pay is
$19.91 to $21.12 per hour.

The Androscoggin County
Sheriff's Office is currently hiring for full-time
Correction Officers. The January 1,
2024 starting wages are $22.07 to $29.30 per hour, depending
on experience, with credit of up to 15 years’ experience in
the field plus stipends for education and night shift
differential.
We offer a 12-hour fixed shifts (nights or
days) in a fifteen-day work rotation where you will have every other weekend off
and be compensated for a 42 hour work week, plus overtime opportunities.

Uniform Allowance and a great team working environment.Applicants must be 18 years of age, have taken the
Maine Criminal Justice Academy ALERT Test, have a high school diploma or GED,
and possess a Maine driver’s license with no major convictions. Applicants will
also need to successfully pass a background investigation to include:
* No convictions or conduct for Murder, Class A, Class B, Class C, or Class D crime; or convictions
for any violation of the Maine Criminal Code, chapters 15 (theft), 19 (falsification in official matters), 25 (bribery or corrupt matters) or 45 (drugs), or a conviction for any equivalent crime in another jurisdiction outside the State of Maine.
* Shall be of good moral character, as determined by a thorough background investigation; Shall complete a state and federal criminal records check
through the submission of fingerprints to the State Bureau of Identification and
the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
* Where a greater portion of the new curriculum is now "hands-on" the candidate must be deemed medically suitable to participate in the corrections training program by having medical personnel sign the MCJA Medical Form.
